The year 2020 is drawing to a close, a year full of ups and downs.

For many of us, 2020 was not easy. The first lockdown in March was associated with the almost complete standstill of public life. Then the sad certainty that major events would not be allowed to take place, including the German Open Championships in Stuttgart. Things finally picked up a bit, the first small competitions were held. Then another setback: the second lockdown with the ban on all events. At the end of the year, still hard contact restrictions and in many places exit restrictions - that was and is the situation in Germany. Many of our dance sport friends all over the world felt the same way.

But let us look forward and hope for the year 2021. The vaccine has been approved and with the continuous vaccination of the population we hope for a normalisation of everyday life.

We cannot predict what will come. However, we wish all our dance sport friends at home and abroad a peaceful and healthy new year 2021. We hope and look forward to seeing you again in August at the German Open Championships - which we hope can be held in Stuttgart's Liederhalle from 10-14 August 2021.
