Arrivederci Bene e Claudia!

A two-part video presentation, which was played on the large screens at the Beethovensaal, showed the most important stages of Benedetto and Claudia, from their first competition to today. Among them their sportive highlights, world champion titles, and the two gold medals at the World Games in 2013 and 2017 - and not to forget their dream wedding in Verona. 

After the first part Benedetto Ferruggia/Claudia Köhler-Ferruggia showed a Quickstep,after the second part of the video they offered a very emotional waltz. Under standing ovations of the whole audience both said „Grazie e Ciao“, thank you and goodbye! 

WDSF CEO Shawn Tay held a laudation on the "two outstanding individuals“, who together won over 100 titles in their sportive career among them three world champion titles in Standard Amateur and two in the WDSF Professional Division. The highest honors were awarded with the gold medal at the World Games 2013 in Cali/Colombia. They replicated this success 2017 in Breslau/Poland. The couple was awarded by the Minister of the Interior with the Silbernen Lorbeerblatt and also with the Sportehrenplakette of Tanzsport Deutschland. For the end of their career Claudia and Benedetto were awarded the "WDSF Outstanding Athlete's Award" by Shawn Tay together with DTV-president Heidi Estler.

Benedetto himself thanked the federations, presidents, and sport directors, as well as their teachers for the continuous support in all the years, and his partner Claudia, without her he wouldn't be world champion, in German and English. She gave back the compliment and thanked her partner and husband for their very successful joint time on the floor.
