Close fight for victory

Gatis Simsons / Julija Simsone (Latvia) and Lionel Lepreux / Charlotte Milleville (France) fought a close battle for the gold medal in the Alte Reithalle. In the 2:3 decision, the Latvians came out on top in the end and stood at the top of the podium. The French were allowed to line up a little lower down in second place. Vicente Munar Vidal / Rosa Maria Garcia Perello (Spain) had no chance of influencing the decision in the top places and finished third with four third places.
