First GOC victory goes to Latvia
The first award ceremony of the German Open took place in the Juniors I over ten dances. 45 couples, among them five from the DTV, represented 16 European countries and delivered an exciting fight for the places. It was particularly close at the top: Jegors Prokins/Polina Karimova and Artem Kryvenko/Yelizaveta Kirich collected 19 points each. According to the majority system, the points for Jegors Prokins/Polina Karimova were "better", so that the first GOC victory of the year went to Latvia. For the Ukrainian pair there was the second place. With a good performance over all rounds, Yigit Bayraktar/Lukrecija Kuraite (Bremen) danced their way to third place. Another DTV couple, Kiril Alexander Denius/Jana Milicevic (Düsseldorf) took fifth place. (usr)
