Gold and silver as in the previous year

The starting list for Senior IV Standard featured exactly 50 more couples than last year. The top medal positions remained unchanged. Bruno Lazzareschi/Ida Zotta danced their way to their second GOC gold medal, ahead of Dr. Michael and Regina Groß, who secured GOC silver for the second time in this age group. The bronze medal went to Jozsef Kranicz/Erika Dobo from Hungary. Fourth to sixth places went to Italy, the USA, and Japan. 
As the second-best German couple, Dirk Keller/Heidemarie Schulz-Brüsewitz narrowly missed the final round, finishing in seventh place.
