Italy puts the golden finishing touch on the Hegel Hall

The solo dancers of Youth Latin concluded the competition today in the Hegel Hall. With 77 starters, the tournament was one of the larger competitions in the solo category. Twenty dancers represented the host country, two of whom – Nikole Sofie Neubauer and Lana Befort – reached the semi-finals.

The final itself was internationally diverse, with six finalists from six nations competing in the last round. Despite the late hour and the noticeably emptier rows at the edge of the floor, the atmosphere remained high.

Italy was once again unbeatable in the medal ceremony: gold went once more to the southern Europeans, silver to Zijun Chen from Spain. The bronze medal travelled the furthest – to China.
