Krivins/Shamova – accustomed to winning

Youth Standard

The largest field among the U19 tournaments on the first day brought 108 couples from 22 countries to the dance floor for the Youth Standard. After the fifth round, the finalists were determined – seven couples from seven countries. With a clear victory in all five dances, Richards Krivins/Alexandra Shamova continued their winning streak at WDSF tournaments: they have already won five this year. They are also Latvian Youth Champions and took second place at the 2024 European Championships.
Second place at a WDSF tournament in Germany is nothing new for Lithuanians Matas Puplevicius/Gabija Vilciauskaite: in May, they achieved this result at “Hessen tanzt”; at the GOC, they also took second place in each of the five dances. The result for third place was just as clear: Adria Hernandez/Emilija Ulcinaite from Spain, currently ranked second in the world. The DTV was also represented in the final: Yigit Bayraktar/Lukrecija Kuraite took seventh place in the international field in their first year as juniors.
