Tears at the award ceremony

55 couples competed in the first round of the WDSF Open Latin Senior II competition this morning. Tears flowed at the end. It was Alexander Engels' tears of joy as he embraced his wife Marina at the award ceremony. By winning all the dances, the couple from Reutlingen won the German Open Championships for the first time. Second place was just as clear and went to Pedro Fernandes / Susana Queiros (Portugal) with five second places. Dr Julian Heubeck / Brigitte Heubeck (TSA Saphir im TuS Holzkirchen) secured the bronze medal by a narrow margin.
