Third gold for Bayraktar/Kuraite
For the third and last time this year, the Juniors II took to the floor of the Hegelsaal. With 127 couples from 27 countries, the Latin competition was the largest for this age group. Five countries were represented in the final, including the DTV with its two top couples, the first two from the last German Championships. Romanians Alexandru-Marian Sabin/Alessandra Maria Dediu had already achieved second place in the ten-dance competition and fifth place in the standard section. They and Bayraktar/Kuraite were the only couples to complete all three final rounds.
With the vast majority of 1s, Bayraktar/Kuraite once again secured first place and added another gold medal to their collection. It is very unusual for a junior pair to win all three competitions, as specialisation in one or two disciplines has usually already begun at this age.
Second place went to Artem Crivenco/Sofiya Malik, who came fourth in the ten-dance competition. And Kiril Alexander Denius/Jana Milicevic won bronze for the second time in this GOC week.
