Juniors II Latin

Wuppertal, Bremen, Stuttgart - wherever Ivan Marynich/Melaniia Petrova appeared recently, they danced to the top. The junior couple won all dances in Stuttgart and thus won the gold medal for Cyprus. The next two places were taken by the two couples who had already kept the respective winners company in the previous GOC tournaments in their age group: Marius-Tiberiu Padurean/Adelina Stanciu came second in four dances and in the overall ranking. Places 5 and 11 were followed by 21 three times in the results list - i.e. equal points for places three to five. The detailed evaluation extended the medal collection of Jegors Prokins/Polina Karimova - two silver - by one bronze. Julian Holzmann/Yeva Liermontova, the best German pair, came in a very close sixth in the seven-pair final with a one-point lead. With 123 couples from 24 nations, the tournament had started at noon; after six rounds and a maximum of 30 dances, the result was clear. (Ulrike Sander-Reis)
