On Thursday, DTV-president Heidi Estler opened the evening event. The highlights of it are the final of Rising Stars Latin and the Professional Super Grand Prix Standard. Even before the first round she introduced Alfons Hörmann and asked him for a short welcoming address. “Ladies and gentlemen, I am here with you tonight, because dancesport is fun. The excellent organization of this event stems from the collaboration of federations and clubs. The work of the numerous judges is very impressive to me!“ With very personal words he spoke to president of the World Dancesport Federation (WDSF) Shawn Tay: “Enjoy your stay here in Stuttgart.“

It was the second time, after 2015, that Alfons Hörmann took the time to visit the GOC. He had already informed himself about the event at a joint dinner with Heidi Estler and the members of the DTV-presidium in the early evening.
