From Lion king to Minions

Beim „Youth World Team Cup“ entschieden sich die meisten Teams dafür, Standard- und Lateintänze erst im eigentlichen Turnier zu zeigen.

At the team presentations, which also flow into the results, there was much music and dance, but more in a "freestyle" way. The first team pulled out all stops. The couples from Moldova were elaborately dressed up and interpreted "The Lion King" with a king, but without lions and a lot of African tribal dances or what you think might be it - turned out very well. Team Russia picked up the theme "Olympia" and let their couples perform other sports - well done, but not so inventive. Romania practiced role reversal and sent the men in skirts on the floor and the ladies in men's clothes. Team Latvia drew their inspiration from the Minions while the Danish team performed an improvisation about the "Scandinavian Summer" with umbrellas. This fit the really rainy day in Stuttgart very well. "Team Germany“ afforded themselves the luxury of four (!) team captains – one per couple – and danced under the theme "Hip-Hop meets Classic“ abundantly and with much fun for the imaginative choreography. Over all judging criteria - presentations, standard, latin - Team Russia won once again. The German team reached the fourth place wit the couples: Michael Ziga/Viktoria Sauerwald, Egor Ionel/Rita Schumichin, Daniel Schmuck/Veronika Obholz, Steven Korn/Kathrin Domme.
