Juveniles II Standard

"It's amazing what kind of performance we can see from couples who are no more than eleven years old," commented former long-time DTV Youth Director Boris Exeler on the Juveniles II Standard final, which offered a delightful contrast to the World Cup of the Boogie Woogie Seniors in the Hegelsaal. 32 children's couples from 15 countries started their competition over four standard dances in the late morning, including two DTV couples who were eliminated one after the other in the first two rounds. In the final, the four couples who had taken the first four places in the combination two days earlier met two newcomers. Their second gold medal with victory in all dances went to the Ukrainians Danyil Dronyk/Victoriia Melnyk ahead of Ronin Moldovan/Zsofia Gombos (Romania), who were just as clearly second in all dances. Latvia was the only country represented with two couples in the final; one stood next to the podium, the other - Oskars Vasiljevs/Diana Bolbate - on the third step. (Ulrike Sander-Reis)
