WDSF Open Senior II Standard

228 couples started in the WDSF Open Standard Senior II competition on Friday. In seven rounds the six best couples qualified for the final. Among them three couples, who were already participating in last year's final. Italians Stefano Bernardini/Stefania Martellini surprisingly won the gold medal with all five dances. Runners-up of the world championship Gert Faustmann/Alexandra Kley won silver. World champions Pierre Payen/Isabelle Reyjal became third this year. Armando Nespoli/Natalia Gualandris improved one place compared to last year and reached fourth place. New to the GOc final were Nikolay Cheremisin/Ekaterina Dukhovskaya, who danced to place five. Vitorio Bramati/Silvia Martorelli, also new to the final, completed the field on sixth place.
